We are the standard for good tattoos in Camrose.
Established in 2025 by partners Devin Hesketh and Emily Devenz, Rose City Originals has quickly become a staple in the community.
Back in 2018, Devin Hesketh decided to leave behind the work force to pursue a career tattooing. With no small amount of luck, he landed an apprenticeship and began to learn the discipline of tattooing.
Over the last 8 years, Devin has travelled all across Canada tattooing in all the big cities, including Vancouver, Kelowna, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, and Montreal. He has recently won multiple awards for his realism, and regularly attends tattoo conventions nationwide.
In 2022, Devin opened his own small studio in Calgary on the busy 17th Ave. It was a wild success and hosted 5 other artists.
In 2023, Devin travelled to Kelowna in late December for a guest spot. While there, he met Emily Devenz, who he quickly fell in love with.
Emily has always been very involved in the culture of tattooing. She kept close acquaintance with many amazing artists in the industry throughout her life, and has been tattooed by some of the best.
In 2023, Emily decided to leave her position in management to pursue the discipline of tattooing in Calgary, AB.
Over the last 2 years, Emily has advanced exponentially and now tattoos professionally.
In early 2025, Devin and Emily made a huge leap and moved to Camrose, AB, where they opened their passion project called Rose City Originals together.
Rose City Originals is a one of a kind tattoo studio that blends the dark and scary with cozy Americana. It has a very “grandma’s attic” aesthetic while still feeling professional and sterile.
We believe it brings together the best parts of two amazing artists and offers something truly unique.
Since opening, Rose City Originals has hosted numerous guest artists, hosted multiple community driven events, and has joined the local Chamber of Commerce. As time continues, Devin and Emily hope you will follow along to watch their growth as they help shape the industry, whether it’s in their studio, on the road, or elsewhere.
